LINDA GALUSHA
lives and practices art in Northern California. Her custom mural commissions and her own personal fine art works share interchanging influences with each other. This, with a continuing exploration of the visual language of composition and various schools of art, her works have evolved to a distinct personal expression. The landscapes of the Sierra Foothills are currently the subject of her paintings.

Artist’s Statement:
I use the language of visual composition and a distillation of various artistic schools of expression to construct my paintings. This is where I find the variety of marks for my works. I use these findings much the same way a writer uses words or a musician employs sounds. The subjects of the paintings are the platforms from which each piece is inspired.

The past few years the subject of my works has been trees and their environs. They are for me a never-ending supply of variety for ‘seeing’ and discovery. They are also a most remarkable life force in presence and landscape that our planet contains. I only recently have introduced a man made subject into my works, the auto, to illustrate an influence that both subjects have on one another.

Why do I make art? This seemingly simple question of words is better described than answered. It is an insistent enigma, a recurring conundrum, a muse infested paradox that also asks me, who am I? How many times does a bus driver or jet pilot, or doctor get asked about the internal process that makes them tick and do what they do?  I 'make' art to get as close as I can to my humanness, to myself, to you, and my life's possibilities. It's what makes me tick.

ERIC BEVEL is a landscape artist who grew up in the foothills of the southern Appalachian Mountains of North Georgia. Drawing since early childhood, he was encouraged by his artist grandmother to pursue creative expression. Focusing primarily on illustration in his early years, he began painting oils after being introduced to the work of the Canadian Group of Seven. The work of A.J. Casson was a prominent influence in his subject matter and style. Eric’s newest body of works is uniquely his own in its exploration and marrying of his early more stylized works with his more recent painterly style.

Eric’s oil and acrylic paintings reflect his love of the outdoors and the adventurous spirit that drives him to explore quiet respites of distant landscapes. From craggy outcroppings found on the steep grades of the Eastern Sierras, to soft - light filled, edgeless clouds which hang above the salty mouths of coastal rivers and inlets, his beautifully rendered works are delightful and immersive.

Artist’s Statement:
"What I love about paint is the ability to strengthen an idea with color. The way layers of paint build to help create dimensionality, texture, and mood. Painting for me is a way to connect more deeply with nature. It helps me to share the joy I feel being amongst the trees, listening to the sounds of the forest or witnessing the quiet expanse of the desert. This world we live in is quite the remarkable place. Life is a rare, magical gift, and I hope that through the art that I make I am able to share a bit of my wonder of it all with others.”
