No giclee prints of original paintings, or fine art prints will be displayed on main gallery walls unless they are enhanced originals (contact Amanda for clarification). Photographs are by nature an exception to this rule. Artists are encouraged to offer giclee prints and or cards in print and card racks in the gift gallery.
NEW ART WORK...
Please only submit new art works. Works previously shown in gallery shows at ASiF will not be admissible.
SCULPTURAL / 3D WORKS...
In order to protect gallery furnishings, any sculptural works with abrasive bottoms to be displayed on pedestals, shelves or tabletops, will require felt, rubber or cork padding for their bottoms! Works which need assembly will require the artist's help for display in the gallery.
FRAMING & OTHER 2D SPECS (ALL SHOWS)...
For artists submitting two-dimensional works:
As always, framing, professional finishing and presentation is very important to the look and feel of our shows. For unframed canvases... please, no exposed staples on sides. Sides should be considered and finished in some manner unless it is an intentional part of the composition to be left unfinished. Collage work must use original imagery (see "original Art Work" section below) and covered with medium so collaged elements have an over all finished presentation.
Simple black frames are highly encouraged (works submitted in ornate frames or colorful, visually demanding frames that are difficult to combine with other art are subject to rejection at second in-person jurying).
Hanging wires are mandatory and should be attached in such a way that the frames seat flat against the wall.
No cheap store-bought frames with stands that don't seat flat against the wall when hung.
Backs must be clean and professional.
No warped canvases.
No sloppy cut, discolored or dirty mats.
Archival, acid free materials only
Professionally finished backings: no rigged or taped backs please!
Works must be for sale, dry and ready for display
Final selections for the show will be made once all works are received.
